Is Katie Price's New Husband an Ex-Convict? Lee Andrews Jailed in Dubai Before Whirlwind Marriage to Former Model
The former model's fourth husband was reportedly released from jail just before the quickie wedding that stunned fans and family
Katie Price left many people in shock when she married her fourth husband, Lee Andrews. This is because it was all so sudden, tying the knot in Dubai just days after meeting him through social media. The 47-year-old well-known British media personality and ex-glamour model married the 41-year-old, who is reportedly a businessman.
The surprise wedding took place just weeks after breaking up with her partner, JJ Slater, a reality star who appeared on Married At First Sight UK in 2023. Price and Andrews' marriage drew intense attention not only for its lightning-fast timeline, but also because of serious concerns voiced by those closest to the former. Despite the record time engagement, wedding vows, and matching tattoos, sceptics have questioned both the speed and sincerity of their whirlwind union.
Lee Andrews' Alleged Questionable Background
The marriage thrust Price's new husband into the spotlight as people became curious about him. From his social media presence, Andrews presents himself as a successful businessman, describing himself as the CEO and founder of Aura Sustainable Vehicles & Energy based in the United Arab Emirates. His posts suggest a lavish lifestyle in Dubai, with several photos even showing him mingling with celebrities.
However, some details about his background have been challenged. Some sources suggest there were aspects of his career that seem to be fabricated, such as his claims about government contracts and sponsorships. They said his business achievements may have also been exaggerated. The Daily Mail UK also reported that Andrew's ex, 32-year-old Alana Percival, claimed he is faking his success and accused him of love bombing. She also said she has evidence proving him to be a 'lying swindler' whose next target is Katie, with whom she advised to 'run for the hills'.
Percival's bombshell ignited speculations about his true motives for marrying the ex-model. What's more, she further alleged that Andrews has been using AI to create a successful, wealthy persona, but in truth is just working as an escort with a long history with women.
Imprisoned in Dubai
Now, the mystery surrounding Katie Price's fourth husband has intensified as another layer of controversy has surfaced. It was claimed that Andrews spent time in jail in Dubai and was only released a few weeks before the wedding. According to the Daily Star, he was imprisoned in Dubai Central Prison on fraud charges.
The UAE-based businessman was reportedly arrested at his home over allegations that he obtained money through deceptive means. He was reportedly locked up for three weeks in an overcrowded prison that is also locally called the Al-Awir jail. This detention centre is notorious for violence, disease, and cramped conditions, where as many as 65 inmates share just one large cell. The court released Andrews after paying fines with an undisclosed amount.
When asked about his time in prison, Katie Price's new husband initially tried to avoid the question with a 'no comment' response. But he quickly reversed course and denied ever being imprisoned. These serious accusations have intensified scrutiny over their decision to get hitched at lightning speed. It should be noted, however, that this claim has not been independently verified and has so far appeared only in online reports. Still, critics are questioning whether Price was aware of this important detail before the rushed ceremony, which even her family had not been informed about.
