King Charles Could Cancel US Visit After Release of Epstein Files Due to Trump, Ex-Prince Andrew Scrutiny: Report
King Charles may cancel US tour amid Epstein and Trump controversies

King Charles is set to visit the United States, but there are rumours the trip could be cancelled after the US Department of Justice released millions of Epstein files. The tour will be his first visit to America as the reigning monarch of the British royal family, but the Epstein document dump has cast a shadow over the anticipated excursion.
The British king finds himself in a treacherous situation because US President Donald Trump and his disgraced brother, Prince Andrew, are both mentioned in the documents. Pushing forward with the US visit could backfire instead of bolstering transatlantic ties.
Epstein Document Release Could Trigger Royal Retreat
Millions of Epstein files have been released since December. Both Trump and the Duke of York have been associated with the convicted sex offender, but the latest trove shows how deep their connection with Epstein runs, potentially forcing King Charles to reconsider his planned US trip.
An unnamed source spoke with Radar Online, claiming the British monarch might not proceed with his visit to the US due to controversies involving Trump and his brother. Critics could easily drag him into the issue and condemn him for continuing his relationship with the politician.
'With scrutiny piling back on Trump and Andrew at the same time, there is a real concern a US visit would be overshadowed from day one', an unnamed source said. 'It would not be diplomatically frowned upon if Charles now cancelled it.'

Diplomatic Friction Over Donald Trump's Greenland Ambitions
Many have already called on King Charles to cancel his visit to America following Trump's renewed interest in Greenland. According to critics, King Charles' trip could signal approval of Trump's administration.
Trump is pursuing Greenland, a semi-autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, with his cousin, King Frederik, serving as its official head of state. With King Charles' ties to Denmark, many have been calling for him to cancel the planned diplomatic visit.
The release of the Epstein files only added fuel to the issue, making it more likely King Charles will skip the US from his itinerary this year. Aside from America being a threat to Greenland, his continued association with Trump could undermine his status in the international community.
Strengthening Trade Relations
King Charles' visit to the United States has a clear purpose. He is reportedly in the process of revitalising multi-million-pound trade after the UK's exit from the European Union. The visit is carefully crafted to coincide with America's 250th anniversary of independence, making it symbolic to both nations.
According to sources, economic stakes are high for the anticipated visit. The British royals could potentially secure £790 million for British industries. Prince William could join his father for the visit, with the heir to the throne's presence potentially boosting the UK's relationship with the US. The two nations had a 'bitter' past, which Queen Elizabeth previously acknowledged in one of her addresses.
'The United States was born in bitter conflict with Britain, but we didn't remain enemies for long', she said.
'The King Should Not Come to America'
There has been a non-stop call for King Charles to cancel his US visit. Steve Schmidt, co-founder of The Lincoln Project and the Save America Movement, recently issued a dire warning to the British monarch. According to him, it's best for the king not to fly to America this year.
'I have a message for the king: I'm involved in a group called the Save America Movement', Schmidt said on the 'Daily Beast Podcast'. 'The king should not come to America in 2026.'
Schmidt alleged he would only be used as a 'propaganda tool' for MAGA and attract 'an advertising campaign that would not be permitted in England'. The anti-Trump Save America Movement is reportedly planning to receive the king with images of Trump and Epstein projected onto buildings.
'I will project images onto buildings in New York City', Schmidt added. 'I will run ad campaigns that, again, boggle the British imagination.'
Buckingham Palace hasn't confirmed King Charles' visit to the US. However, Trump mentioned it after his UK trip in 2025.
