Kylee Monteiro Missing Body Found? Latest Update as Boyfriend Gregory Groom Faces Murder Charge
She was last seen after a reported argument with boyfriend Gregory Groom

The desperate search for Kylee Monteiro, a pregnant 18-year-old who vanished on 7 August 2025, has taken a haunting turn after human remains consistent with hers were found on the property of her boyfriend, Gregory Groom.
Authorities have now charged Groom with murder as the chilling investigation unfolds.
Kylee Monteiro's Disappearance
Kylee, a recent graduate of Attleboro High School, was about 11 weeks pregnant when she went missing. She was last seen on 6 August after a reported argument with 22-year-old Gregory Groom.
Friends revealed that Kylee sent disturbing texts expressing fear and a sense of danger before losing contact.
'She was desperate for help. She was calling out to friends, family, anyone she could, telling them that she was in danger. The whole situation is very scary,' her sister Faith Monteiro told ABC News.
Standing around six feet tall, with light brown hair and blue or brown eyes, Kylee was last seen wearing a red 'Get Over It' T-shirt, ripped blue jeans, and tan boots, possibly carrying a white bag.
Her sudden disappearance from social media platforms such as TikTok and Snapchat alarmed loved ones, who said this silence was completely unlike her.
Police Investigation and Search Efforts
Rehoboth police launched an extensive manhunt right after Kylee was reported missing. The search included K9 units, drones, helicopters, ATVs, and divers scanning waterways and wooded areas near County Street, the location where she was last seen.
As days passed with no sign of Kylee, the investigation intensified and drew significant attention across Massachusetts and beyond.
Discovery of Human Remains
On Tuesday, 19 August, authorities executed a search warrant at Gregory Groom's residence at 107 County Street. Bristol County District Attorney Tom Quinn announced that the search uncovered human remains believed to be those of Kylee Monteiro.
While the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner carries out formal identification, the case has officially shifted from a missing person investigation to a suspected homicide.
Charges Against Gregory Groom
Initially, Groom was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and battery on a pregnant person, domestic assault, and intimidation of a witness tied to an incident occurring on 6 August, the day before Kylee vanished.
District Attorney Quinn later confirmed that Groom will face murder charges following the grim discovery. Groom remains in custody without bail and is due for arraignment in Taunton District Court.
Family and Community Response
From the start, Kylee's family and friends have voiced deep concerns. Known for her shy nature and strong reliance on loved ones, Kylee's last messages left a chilling impression. One friend recalled, 'I tried talking with her after that, and she just stopped responding to me after that.'
The community gathered near the property during the ongoing investigation, offering prayers and singing in her memory.
A vigil is planned for Saturday, 23 August, as residents come together to mourn the likely loss of the young woman.
To support search efforts and funeral preparations, the Monteiro family has launched a GoFundMe campaign, inviting generous contributions from those wishing to help.
