Overview

Lee Chong Wei is seeking his sixth title of the season when he takes on Brice Leverdez in the quarter-finals of the Denmark Open. The Malaysian world number one dispatched Indian shuttler H S Prannoy in the previous round 21-10, 21-20.

Chong Wei, who won silver at the Olympics for a third straight time this summer, will be the overwhelming favourite when he comes up against the 38th ranked Frenchman over whom he holds a 6-0 win-loss record.

The Malaysian is one of only two seeded players remaining in the men's singles draw after home favourites Viktor Axelson and Jan O Jorgensen seeded two and three respectively lost in the earlier rounds. This makes it all the more favourable for Chong Wei to pick up his sixth title and strengthen his position as the top ranked player in the world.
