94mins FULL-TIME CHELSEA 3-5 ARSENAL

91mins GOAL! CHELSEA 3-5 ARSENAL (van Persie) What a hat-trick from the Arsenal captain. Arsenal clear their lines from a Chelsea corner and it's four on three at the back, Arteta picks out van Persie left of the Chelsea area, he takes one touch and slams a left-foot shot into the net. Cech got a hand to it but the power behind the drive was such that it was in the net before anyone really knew much about it.

87mins Gervinho off, Vermaelen on. That should tighten things up, right?

84mins GOAL! CHELSEA 3-4 ARSENAL (van Persie) Yet another defensive mistake, this time it's Chelsea and a horrible slip by John Terry. Malouda had the ball just inside the Chelsea half, Terry was under no pressure when he recieved the pass but his slip allowed van Persie a clean run on the Chelsea goal from which a simple shimmy round Petr Cech presented the Dutchman with an empty net.

80mins GOAL! CHELSEA 3-3 ARSENAL (Mata) What a strike by the Spaniard. Arsenal feel they should have a freekick when Lukaku blocks Santos but the referee doesn't give it and Meireles is allowed to advance before squaring the ball to Mata. The Spaniard takes one touch before unleashing a ferocious, dipping shot from all of 25-yards that Szczesny is nowhere near.

79mins Walcott's replaced by Rosicky.

77mins We've got a break in play while the referee sorts out a spot of handbags between Ivanovic and van Persie. The spat occured after the Dutchman felt Ivanovic led with his elbow as the pair battled for a header. Some heated words were exchanged before van Persie shoved Ivanovic in the back. The Chelsea defender didn't really need to go down but he tumbled rather dramatically to the floor. Yellow card apiece.

76mins Torres is having "one of those days" again. The Spaniard picks up the ball inside the centre-circle and tries to find Lukaku racing into space down the Arsenal left but his through-ball is far too straight and Szczesny gathers.

72mins Apologies for the lack of updates - minor technical issues. Lukaku replaces Ramires. Ramsey's lofted pass is aimed towards van Persie but for once the Dutchman's touch lets him down and he's driven out wide. He does well to hold the ball up before slipping a square pass through to the onrushing Ramsey who skews a shot off Ivanovic for an Arsenal corner. Van Persie's delivery is one of the worst corner's you will see all season. Arsenal sub: Djourou off, Carl Jenkinson on. Chelsea sub: Mikel off, Raul Meireles on.

62mins Malouda comes on for Sturridge. Moments earlier Ramsey breaks into the Chelsea box and Cruyff-turns the hell out of Cole and makes for the byline. Cole's lunge clips the Gunners' midfielder but he doesn't go down when perhaps he should have done and his cross is cut out by Cech.

59mins Gervinho drifts away from the centre-circle and draws Ivanovic and Terry but the Arsenal striker can't find Ramsey who's in acres of space ahead of him. Alan Hansen will be having kittens over this defending.

58mins There's no let-up here, Ashley Cole sashays down the left and lets fly from all of 30-yards but the ball flys a couple of feet over the Arsenal goal.

55mins GOAL! CHELSEA 2-3 ARSENAL (Walcott) What a ridiculous game. Arsenal win a freekick over on the far right touchline. Walcott takes it quickly while Cole's complaining about the initial decision and the Arsenal winger skedaddles throught the entire Chelsea backline before rifling a shot past Cech at the near-post.

49mins This game certainly has more goals in it. A ball over the top has Arsenal's defence in disarray not for the first time this afternoon. Szczesny rushes out of his area to deal with the danger but Cole touches the ball round the onrushing keeper and the Pole can only upend the Chelsea defender. Andre Marriner reaches for his back pocket but it's only yellow for the Arsenal keeper with players covering. Lampard's wicked freekick is well-saved but Szczesny, who pushes the ball round the post for a corner.

48mins GOAL! CHELSEA 2-2 ARSENAL (Santos) He may not be able to defend but maybe it doesn't matter when you can do it down the other end. Sturridge doesn't go with his man and a ball over the top finds the left-back in acres of space centre-left. He takes one touch before arrowing a low shot under Petr Cech to pull the Gunners level

46mins We're underway once again and the second half has started off at much the same pace that the first half was played at. Van Persie skitters free down the right but his shot from a tight angle is saved by Cech. Then Gervinho twists away from Bosingwa and pulls the ball back for Ramsey but his deft touch drifts harmlessly over the bar.

45mins GOAL! CHELSEA 2-1 ARSENAL (Terry) Arsenal concede from a set-piece for the umpteenth time this season. It's not a great ball in, to be honest, but Mertesacker's caught on his heels as the ball's whipped in and Terry - who else - is on hand to bundle the ball into the bottom left-hand corner.

40mins Arsenal win a freekick 30-yards out after Walcott draws a foul from Lampard. Van Persie spots the ball but he goes for placement rather than power and his shot lands harmlessly on the top of Cech's net.

38mins Santos gets worked over once again. This time it's Ramires who drops the proverbial shoulder and drifts past the Brazilian before sliding a low ball into the centre where Sturridge guides the ball into the net. He's offside, so it won't count but Arsenal are all over the place at the back.

36mins GOAL! CHELSEA 1-1 ARSENAL (van Persie) Chelsea fail to keep a clean-sheet once again. Arsenal pick up the ball in midfield and work the ball to Aaron Ramsey, centre-right of goal. He looks up and plays an incisive through-ball that splits Terry and Ivanovic perfectly. Gervinho draws Cech but with his earlier miss in the back of his mind, elects to side-foot the ball to the waiting van Persie who slams the ball into the empty net.

32mins Sturridge has another run at Santos, turning him this way then that before easily breaking clear of the left-back. But Koscielny's on hand to mop up the ball and spare Santos' blushes.

29mins Chelsea should be two up, simple as that. A trademark Frank Lampard ball over the top of the Arsenal defence sends Sturridge clean through on goal. It's a tight angle but by no means impossible and he should score, truth be told. But he scuffs a left-foot shot wide off the outside of his boot. Poor miss.

27mins Ramsey finds van Persie out on the left who breaks to the byline before looping over a cross to the far post where Walcott just can't get enough power behind the header.

25mins Torres breaks down the left and drifts to the edge of the Arsenal area before sending the ball over but his cross is cut out. Chelsea play the ball around the edge of the 18-yard line before Cole has a speculative shot that's straight at Szczesny.

21mins Santos is in for a torrid afternoon. Mata teases the left-back once again before skittlign down the right and whipping in a cross. Mertesacker clears after a fashion and Arsenal knock the ball around in midfield but the Gunners' struggle to find away through the the danger passes.

18mins Sturridge bombs down the right once again before sending the ball over. Torres is waiting but Arsenal clear. Chelsea getting a lot of joy against Santos down the Arsenal left.

15mins Moments before Chelsea's goal van Persie blazed a shot over the bar from a tight angle. And the Dutchman almost creates an opportunity for Walcott down the left but the winger doesn't anticipate the cross and the moment passes.

13mins GOAL! CHELSEA 1-0 ARSENAL (Lampard) Chelsea switch the ball out to the left where Mata tempts Santos into a horrible lunge before skipping round the Brazilian and whipping in a mean cross. Mertesacker slips as the ball drifts over and Lampard is free, five yards out, to cushion a header low to Szczesny's left. It's been coming.

12mins What a chance for Arsenal! Walcott breaks down the left with Cole stranded, when he's level with the area he slides an inch-perfect cross into the centre and Gervinho must score. But the forward screws his shot horribly wide.

10mins Chelsea knocking the ball around without really doing anything of note. The home side win a freekick for a trip on Sturridge. Lampard spots the ball and smacks the ball straight into the Arsenal wall.

8mins It's quietened down somewhat since the frenetic pace of the opening minutes. But never undersestimate what Arsenal might do to themselves. The visitors are playing like a group of 7-year-olds at the moment. Every player running after the ball with no regard for positional sense. How we're still goalless I have no idea.

4mins Djourou's all over the place at right-back. Cole is given acres of space once again, but his cross is cut out by Per Mertesacker. And there's another chance for the home side! This time it's down the left as Daniel Sturridge ghosts past Andre Santos but he can only pick out Szczesny with Torres lurking, unmarked six yards out.

3mins Open start at Stamford Bridge. A quick thow-in finds van Persie clean through on the left byline but there are no red shirts to convert his cut-back.

2mins Not a great start for Djourou who's slip gives Cole a chance to run at the right back. He's clear down the right with Torres in the middle but his through-ball is cut out by Koscielny.

1min Chelsea get us underway, kicking right to left clad all in blue. Arsenal, in their red shirt, white shorts home strip playing, rather obviously, from left to right.

1243 Click-clack-click-click, the players are out the tunnel, the Stamford Bridge crowd roar their approval. We're minutes away...

1230 John Terry, fresh from a week of wall-to-wall television coverage plays, Nicolas Anelka doesn't. For Arsenal, Robin van Persie is back after starting last week's win over Stoke from the bench, Thomas Vermaelen takes his place among the subsistutes after limping off in mid-week.

Chelsea: (4-3-3) Cech; Bosingwa, Ivanovic , Terry, Cole; Ramires, Mikel, Lampard; Sturridge, Torres, Mata
Subs: Blackman, Bertrand, Luiz, Romeu, Meireles, Malouda, Lukaku.

Arsenal: (4-4-2) Szczesny; Djourou, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Santos; Ramsey, Song, Arteta, Walcott; Van Persie, Gervinho.
Subs: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Frimprong, Park, Rosicky, Arshavin.

A must win game for both sides but for very different reasons. Chelsea, having stumbled against QPR last weekend need a win here to keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the table. Arsenal require all three points to continue their recovery following that dreadful start to the season. And without Didier Drogba the Gunners might just fancy this. The Ivorian's bagged 13 goals in 14 appearances against Arsene Wenger's side but his suspension, coupled with Chelsea's suspect defence, presents a real opportunity for Arsenal's renaissance to gather steam.

Kick off: 12.45pm.
