Liverpool will be hoping the vociferous Anfield crowd will help overcome the one-goal deficit from the first-leg and beat Villarreal to book a place in the final of the Europa League.

Where to watch live

Kick-off is set for 8.05pm BST. The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport Europe.

Overview

Liverpool will be hoping the Anfield crowd can inspire them to another comeback victory against Villarreal in the second-leg of the semi-finals of the Europa League. The Reds need to overcome a one-goal deficit, but will be wary that every away goal conceded will make their task harder. The onus will be on the defence once again, after a late lapse cost them at the El Madrigal. Jurgen Klopp is confident his team can progress if they are at their "best" on 5 May.

The Reds have been handed a boost ahead of the tie as Emre Can has returned to training ahead of schedule and feature against the La Liga side, but Mamadou Sakho's presence in the back will be missed with Kolo Toure likely to deputise alongside Dejan Lovren.

Villarreal, meanwhile, come to Anfield with the objective of holding on to their narrow advantage and put their opponents under pressure, but Marcelino believes that the atmosphere at Anfield is likely to have a positive effect on his team. The Yellow Submarines have a fully fit squad to choose from as they look to book their place in the final, which could be an all Spanish affair if Sevilla overcome Shakhtar Donetsk in the other semi-final.

What managers say

Jurgen Klopp: "If we play our best then we can go to the final. These [Liverpool] players gave me a lot of positive signs about their qualities. We are ready. All that we have done since [I arrived in] October was to be perfectly prepared for a game like this."

Marcelino: "We come here full of hope. We're going to give everything we have got and we will enjoy ourselves. Our main aim is to be competitive. We feel we have the capabilities to make it through to the final. In no way whatsoever will we be affected negatively by the atmosphere; if anything we will be affected positively."
