A man fitted with a bionic penis revealed that he is finally going to have sex at the age of 43. Mohammed Abad lost his penis when he was six years old, after being hit by a car.

Though his prosthetic penis was fitted in 2012, it has only been functional for the last few months. Abad told The Sun: "I have waited long enough for this. It'll be a great start to the new year. My penis is working perfectly now so I just want to do it. I'm really excited. I can't wait for it to finally happen."

Abad is planning to lose his virginity to award-winning sex worker and activist Charlotte Rose, who is said to have waved her usually £200-an-hour fee after hearing Abad's story.

The eight-inch bionic penis contains two rubber tubes that inflate when Abad presses a button above his testicles. He had to undergo 119 operations before it became functional. Talking about one of the operations, he told ITV's This Morning that he had to keep it erect for a fortnight afterwards: "I got out of hospital on the 10th of July and got a train back up to Scotland. I had to keep it erect for two weeks."

Rose told the Sun: "I am so honoured that he chose me to take his virginity. We plan to have a dinner date so we can get to know each other and then two hours of private time. I'm not charging him."
