French Ligue 1 club Paris St Germain (PSG) continue to put fellow big spenders Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid to shame. After it was confirmed that the club had signed Brazilian centre back Thiago Silva from Italian club AC Milan, a number of reports suggest Silva's former team mate, Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is to sign for PSG and follow the defender to the Parc des Princes outfit. An earlier IBTimes UK report speculated, based on quotes made by Milan president Silvio Berlusconi, both Silva and Ibrahimovic would shift to France for next season and it seems that speculation is about to be proven correct.

Meanwhile, the potential sale of Ibrahimovic means Milan are decidedly lightweight in the striking department ahead of the new Serie A season. If the 30 year old Swede does indeed go (as is almost certain), the Rossoneri will be left with Italian Antonio Cassano and Brazilians Robinho and Alexandre Pato up front, meaning they may have to bring fresh faces in. Fortunately, money should not be a problem since the combined sale of Silva and Ibrahimovic should net Milan, the Daily Mail speculates, something in the region of £50mn.

Among the strikers on the Italian champions' radar is Manchester City's Bosnian forward Edin Dzeko. The 26 year old striker joined the English champions from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg in January last year, for a fee of £27mn. However, the sterling performances of Argentine forward Sergio Agüero and the presence of the mercurial but talented Italian Mario Balotelli has meant progressively fewer minutes on the pitch for the Bosnian. The player has been thought to be unhappy over the situation at the Etihad stadium and the Daily Mail has suggested the presence of Agüero, Balotelli and even Carlos Tevez, may force Dzeko to reconsider his future.

As a result, it now appears Dzeko and Milan have opened talks over a possible move to the San Siro. The Sun quotes the player's agent, Sead Susic, as saying his client would love to take over from Ibrahimovic.

"Edin would love to play in Serie A and with the Rossoneri. A move to AC Milan is more than possible. There have been discussions and they are continuing. Let's see what will happen in the coming days. After the departure of Ibrahimovic, Dzeko would be an ideal replacement and it would be a wonderful experience, but we are waiting to see what happens," Susic was quoted as saying by The Sun.

PSG have already confirmed the signing of another attacker, in the form of Argentine Ezequiel Lavezzi, earlier this summer. Lavezzi, who was also a target for Chelsea, signed for a reported fee of £21mn.
