Overview

City are in fine form, having won all their matches played in all competitions in the 2016/17 season. This includes a 2-1 victory over Jose Mourinho's Manchester United in the Manchester derby clash at Old Trafford on 10 September.

Since Pep Guardiola took charge at the Etihad, the Citizens have improved and so has their goalscoring record. So far they have scored 22 goals in all competitions, while conceding five goals in the process.

In the last fixture, City registered a 4-0 comfortable victory over Borussia Monchengladbach in their first group stage fixture of the Champions League. Argentine international Sergio Aguero was the star man for his side, netting a hat-trick.

Aguero is suspended for three Premier League matches and Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho is likely to lead City's attack against the Cherries.

Meanwhile, AFC Bournemouth enter this fixture after a 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion in the last clash. Manager Eddie Howe has targeted to walk away from the Etihad by defeating City on Saturday.

What managers say

Pep Guardiola: "I think tomorrow he [Silva] will not be able to play, I don't think. I haven't seen the doctor and David. I don't think it's a big problem but it happened two days ago so I don't think he will be able [to play]."

Eddie Howe: "It's a great challenge for us, I see Manchester City as potentil champions. But it's a good time for us to go and face the best. We will need to be at our best and they will potentially need to have a day where they don't perform as well as they have done so far this season."
