Where to Watch

Kick-off is set for 3 pm BST. Live TV coverage is not available for this game. Live radio coverage on BBC Radio 5Live. Catch the highlights on Match of the Day at 10.20 pm BST on BBC One.

Overview

Manchester City will come into this game high on confidence following the 3-1 demolition of Liverpool in their previous Premier League fixture. The Citizens looked imperious for the first one hour and totally controlled the game against the Reds, who after a bright start could not cope with City's pace.

Manuel Pellegrini has a dilemma ahead of the game regarding his striker options. Apart from Negredo, who is out injured, Edin Dzeko, Steven Jovetic and Sergio Aguero are all fit and in top form. He will have to decide who to start against Stoke City on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Stoke come to Manchester on the back of a 3-0 win over Portsmouth in the Capital One Cup, but are yet to register a win in the Premier League. Traditionally, this fixture has not been kind to Stoke as they have not won in the previous five league meetings with City at the Etihad Stadium. Moreover, they have conceded 12 goalsand failed to score even one.

Mark Hughes will be hoping to at least turn over the goal scoring record if not the win, and will hope new signings Victor Moses and former Barcelona man Bojan Krkic can make that happen.

Stat of the Match: Sergio Aguero has scored three times in his last three matches at the Etihad against Stoke.

What Managers Say

Manuel Pellegrini (Manchester City): "We need the whole squad, during the first three weeks we play one game during the week but after the players come from the international break we have to play seven games in 20 days, so it's very important to take advantage in every day that we work from now until they come back against Arsenal, it's also important to see if some players will have minutes against Stoke that's why it was very difficult to start in pre-season, so I'm happy with the two games that we won."

Mark Hughes (Stoke City): "It's impossible to second guess what Mr Pellegrini [City manager Manuel Pellegrini] is going to do because of the options he has available to him. I watched them on Monday night, and for an hour they were absolutely fantastic. It will be a very difficult afternoon for us for sure. I am looking forward to going back there, though."
