Can Manchester United catch Arsenal in the table? David Moyes thinks so.

David Moyes is hopeful that over the next two months Manchester United will be able to catch Arsenal at the top of the table and get back into the mix for the Premier League tropy.

The Gunners are currently four points clear of their closest opposition at the top of the table and are eight points ahead of United. Despite Moyes' men coming out 1-0 winners over the north London side in November Arsenal have recovered with two wins in a row while the Red Devils have drawn twice.

And after coming twice from behind at the weekend to finish draw with Tottenham, Moyes says he is concerned that Arsenal are building a significant lead at the top of the table.

He said in his most recent press conference, as reported by ESPN: "We're concerned that we're not as close as we'd like to be but it's a long season and I do think that we've still got room to progress and get better, that's undoubted."

But Moyes insisted that within the next two months, as United prepare to play 12 games in all competition, the side will be able to string together some good results to get back in contention to keep hold of the Premier League title.

"Hopefully we'll be thereabouts soon, we're got a lot of games coming up in the couple of months, in the next eight weeks certainly, and we hope to be in the mix at the end of that period," he explained.

United have three home fixtures coming up but they won't be easy with Moyes' old side Everton facing the club this Wednesday followed by a match with in-form Newcastle.

The side will certainly be hoping that their form picks up over Christmas but with the unpredictable nature of the Premier League so far this season United are still only one win away from being back in the top four despite their recent disappointing league results.
