Manchester United and Liverpool have joined Arsenal in the race for Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Frenchman has been in brilliant form for Sociedad this season, thus attracting interest from a host of clubs across Europe.

The winger has already scored 16 goals this season and assisted three in 31 appearances, a tally which should see him move to a top club in the summer.

Arsene Wenger has previously confirmed his interest in the player but the other Premier League clubs are not willing to let him go without a fight.

United and Liverpool have ramped up their interest in the player as both teams look to strengthen their squad for different reasons for the u,pcoming campaign.

Liverpool, who have confirmed their position in the Champions League next season, will be looking to strengthen their squad as they look to cope with the vagaries of Europe along with the Premier League.

Meanwhile, United, who have ostensibly made their way out of Europe, will be looking to make some heavy investment so as to reclaim their position as among the heavyweights in Europe.

The player is expected to be available for a fee in the range of £20m, a pittance given the talent he will bring to the team in the long run. PSG were believed to be favourites to sign the player but have now cooled their interest.

Arsenal are still hopeful of signing the player given the strong French influence at Arsenal and the presence of Arsene Wenger, who is known for his ability to bring the best out of young players.

Arsenal will face Hull City on Sunday as the Gunners look to strengthen their position in the top four, with Everton faced with a difficult task against Manchester United at the Goodison later in the day. A win here for Arsenal will extend the gap to four points and put the pressure on Everton to secure a win.
