Manchester United are reportedly willing to let their striker Javier Hernandez join Juventus in order to get Arturo Vidal to make a switch to Old Trafford this summer.

The Express report suggests the Chilean international is very close to joining the Red Devils. United are very positive that the 27-year-old will join the Premier League club in the ongoing transfer window.

United manager Louis van Gaal is interested in sealing a move for Vidal. However, the former Barcelona and Bayer Munich boss is concerned about the midfielder's knee injury.

The Chile coach confirmed Old Trafford club's interest in signing the South American midfielder. However, Jorge Sampaoli says Van Gaal is waiting for assurance on Vidal's knee injury before making a move for the Juventus star.

According to the Daily Mail, the Dutchman is preparing a summer clear-out at Old Trafford as he is set to allow six first team players leave United. Hernandez is one out of those six players and the Mexican international could be joining the Serie A winners.

Hernandez saw his first team appearances being limited last season, which has cost him a place in Mexico's starting lineup during the World Cup in Brazil. He started from the bench for his national side in the summer tournament.

The Red Devils striker is open to making a switch to Italy and he could join Juventus on a permanent transfer. The deal from the Turin club for Hernandez's services would see them allow Vidal move in the opposite direction.

Another report from the Express claims the Italian champions have issued an ultimatum to United in their ongoing pursuit of Vidal.

Juventus want to put an end to the ongoing saga and have now given a week's time to Van Gaal's side to snap up a deal for the former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder. Failing to do so would see the English outfit end their hopes of signing Vidal as the Old Lady would not encourage United's offer for their player.

Van Gaal is likely to allow Hernandez leave Old Trafford and replace him with James Wilson in the first team for the next season. Should the report be true, Vidal's addition is likely to bolster the Red Devils' midfield.
