Marc Anthony's father has shared some updates about his son's recent separation from wife Shannon De Lima and revealed that the singer's lip-lock with Jennifer Lopez at the 2016 Latin Grammys was a publicity stunt.

Felipe Muñiz spoke about Anthony's marriage troubles in an interview with Telemundo Puerto Rico's Dando Candela, and revealed that the 48-year-old singer is yet to officially file for divorce from the 28-year-old Venezuelan model.

Muñiz said [via Entertainment Tonight]: "He's going through tough times right now, but he knows how to accept what comes out of this." The Spanish singer reportedly separated from his third wife, Venezuelan model Shannon De Lima in early November.

He also acknowledged that Anthony and his wife of two years had "lot of problems" but maintained that they haven't legally parted ways. "There's nothing concrete like that," he said, and added that his son has "experience" with troubled marriages.

The singer's father also addressed Anthony's kiss with former wife Jennifer Lopez at the 2016 Latin Grammys, and revealed that it was a "friendly" kiss. "They're recording together," he said. When asked if the Lopez smooch was a publicity stunt, he teased, "Hmmmm...You already know."

Lopez and Marc, who ended their seven-year marriage amicably in 2012, performed a duet of the classic 1984 Spanish song Olvidame y Pega la Vuelta, at the awards ceremony in November. Lopez also presented him with the Latin Recording Academy's Person of the Year award. In her speech, she described Anthony as a "living legend," and "pure artist". She said: "He's not only the person of the year, he's the person of all time."

While receiving the award, Marc said: "I want to dedicate this award to my kids. You guys have sacrificed more than anyone to see daddy standing here after 30 years. You guys are living this moment with me. I want to dedicate this award to everyone that said no to me, who said I would never make it, who told me it was impossible, I want to say, 'This is for you.'"
