Microsoft announces global rollout of Lumia Denim update: Check your Windows Phones now

Microsoft has announced the global rollout of its much expected Lumia Denim update, and the software upgrade is now seeding to a large number of Lumia smartphones across the world.

If you are a Lumia device user, then check out for the latest phone update related notifications which should appear automatically for your handsets.

You can also check out for the latest software updates manually by navigating to the Settings section within your smartphones.

"First, there was Lumia Amber. Then came Lumia Black and Lumia Cyan. Now Lumia Denim, our newest update, has started rolling out and will soon be available for your Lumia," states the Redmond-based company, in an official blog post.

Prior to the worldwide rollout of Lumia Denim, the update was confined to only specific Lumia models across select countries of the world.

With the latest announcement, Microsoft also seems to be on track to fully deliver Lumia Denim to all Lumia smartphone users throughout the world by the end of Q1 2015.

For countries (notably the United States of America) where software updates are generally dependent on approval from wireless carriers, the Denim update should take a tad longer to reach Lumia users as partner testing and approvals are currently underway, according to Microsoft.

To enable Lumia owners to seamlessly track the current status of the Denim rollout, Microsoft has made public an online tracker using which users can determine the current availability of Lumia Denim for their country.

Apart from the above geographical locations, Lumia Denim is also live for Lumia 930 smartphone users in multiple countries of the Middle East such as Oman, UAE, Qatar and more, according to a Nokia Power User report.

Lumia 930 users spread out across the Latin American nations of Costa Rica, El Salvador and Columbia should also notice Lumia Denim seeding to their smartphones.

Lumia 1520, Lumia 930 and Lumia 830 users to get updated Lumia Camera

Alongside announcing the wider Lumia Denim rollout, Microsoft also stated that users of devices viz Lumia Icon, Lumia 1520, Lumia 830 and Lumia 930 will be offered an updated Lumia Camera application, with the Lumia Denim update.

Other Lumia users will not be getting the improved Lumia Camera app.
