Motorola has announced a summer sale that will continue until the end of June.

The company is offering big savings on purchase of the sixth generation Nexus smartphone and the Moto X (2nd Gen) beginning from 17 June and ending at 11.59pm on 30 June.

The 32GB Nexus 6 is now available for £399, a £80 drop from the earlier retail price of £479, while the 64GB model is now available for £469.

The price of Moto X (2nd Gen) has been slashed from £395 to £229 for the 16GB handset, while the 32GB model is selling at £299.

Along with the big summer discounts for the aforementioned devices, there have also been reports suggesting that Lenovo, which acquired Motorola for $2.91bn from Google, will launch its first Motorola phone this summer.

"We have many new models in development with the Moto brands, so you may see in summer us launching some very exciting products, including phones and watches," Lenovo chairman and chief executive Yang Yuanqing revealed at the company's TechWold event held in Beijing.
