A shooting at an Ohio nightclub in the early hours of Sunday (16 April) has left nine people wounded and two in a critical condition following the incident that occurred.

Police confirmed they had received calls reporting gunfire at roughly 3.20am EST (8.20am GMT) near the J&R Party Hal in north-east Columbus.

Seven of those injured in the shooting have been taken to Grant Medical Centre for treatment, while the two individuals in more serious conditions were taken to OSU Medical Centre.

It comes less than a month after another Ohio nightclub shooting left one man dead and 15 people injured – this time in Cincinnati.
