Final preparations for the 84th Academy Awards are in full swing at the Kodak Theatre as the big event is just hours away.
While the rehearsals for the award presentations and acceptance speeches are progressing at the back stage, television crews are busy rehearsing for the non-stop coverage of the event.
Crews are not leaving anything for chance as they spruce up the red carpet before the arrival of the guests Sunday and conduct security sweep in the area with the sniffer dogs to make sure the safety of the evening.

For the first time in nearly 30 years, more viewers tuned in for this year's Grammy Awards than this past Sunday's Oscar ceremony. The Academy Awards raked in 39.3 million total viewers, a boost of 1.4 million to their usual audience.
