In his first public appearance since the birth of his baby, Prince George, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William spoke of the challenges of fatherhood during a visit to a country show in Anglesey, North Wales on Wednesday (August 14).

He told crowds at the agricultural show that baby George was "pretty loud and of course extremely good-looking."

"Catherine is sorry she can not be here today at the county show. She and George would have loved to have been here. He's pretty loud and of course extremely good-looking. I have to say that I thought search and rescue duties over Snowdonia were physically and mentally demanding but looking after a three-week-old baby is right up there. I know that I speak for Catherine, when I say that never in my life have I known somewhere as beautiful and welcoming as Anglesey."

William is due to end his stint on Anglesey as a Royal Air Force search and rescue pilot next month.
