Trump Death Rumours Erupt as Dozens of Jewish Rabbis Seen Leaving White House After Private Oval Office Meeting

A stream of Jewish rabbis leaving the White House after a private Oval Office meeting with Donald Trump was followed by a fresh wave of extraordinary death rumours about the president, sending 'Trump' trending worldwide despite no evidence he had died.

The unusual sequence unfolded as social media users seized on a cryptic White House post, the absence of a public Trump event and Vice President JD Vance's announcement that he would take the podium for the administration's first briefing in 42 days.

Rabbis Leave White House After Private Meeting

The Jewish delegation's meeting with Trump had its own political and religious significance, with six anti-Zionist rabbis reportedly pressing the president on issues involving Israel's wars and the military draft of yeshiva students.

The delegation included the two grand rabbis of the Satmar Hasidic community, a group known for its religious opposition to Zionism. Their presence had already attracted attention among some Jewish Trump supporters before the meeting took place.

Following the meeting, Hasidic political operative Yossi Gestetner described the encounter as an important moment for the community.

'It was an opportunity for the first time in over 50 years for the president of the U.S. to meet with the grand rabbis of the largest Hasidic community,' Gestetner told reporters.

The rabbis' departure from the White House subsequently became part of a much larger online conversation, although there is no evidence linking their meeting to Trump's health or the death rumours circulating online.

One White House Post Sends Trump Trending

The speculation gained momentum after the White House press office account on X quote-posted an earlier eyes emoji with a simple announcement: 'Vice President @JDVance will take the podium tomorrow at 1PM.'

For social media users already primed to look for clues, the announcement appeared suspicious. Some interpreted Vance's appearance as a possible sign of a leadership change, despite the White House providing an ordinary explanation.

The Press Secretary secretary position has remained vacant since Karoline Leavitt left to join Trump's MAGA Inc super PAC. Vance has stepped in before, including during a previous briefing on 23 July.

Trump also had no public events listed for Thursday. That scheduling gap, combined with the White House post and images of rabbis leaving the building, provided fresh material for online speculation.

Death Rumours Echo Trump's 2025 Scare

The latest frenzy closely resembles a far larger rumour cycle from Labor Day weekend in 2025.

At the time, Vance had told USA Today that he had received 'a lot of good on-the-job training' during Trump's first 200 days in office. He also said Trump was 'in incredibly good health'.

Vance's comments were interpreted by some social media users as a possible hint about presidential succession. Trump had also made fewer public appearances over the holiday weekend, prompting hashtags including #trumpisdead and #whereistrump to spread.

Trump eventually addressed the speculation himself, calling the rumours 'crazy' and 'fake news'. Asked how he had learned he was supposedly dead, he joked: 'I didn't see that.'

The White House later attributed bruising on Trump's hand and swelling in his legs to chronic venous insufficiency, a condition disclosed in 2025.
