Rapper and podcast host 4xtra suffered a serious hand injury while celebrating Independence Day, after a fireworks device exploded unexpectedly in his hand. Initially joking with fans, the incident quickly turned traumatic when two of his fingers were severed.

4xtra Lost 2 Fingers in Fireworks Accident

On 4 July 2025, 4xtra, known for hosting the No Jumper podcast, posted a video on X (formerly Twitter), holding fireworks and joking with fans.

'Who wants to get blown up today?' he asked, adding: 'I'm going to blow your a– up! I'm blowing somebody up today.'

Tragically, the joke became reality when the fireworks exploded in his hand, severing two fingers. A fellow No Jumper host later clarified: '4xtra only lost 2 fingers not the whole hand. Also he was blind for a few hours but apparently his vision is back.'

As of writing, 4xtra has not made a public statement about the incident. Graphic images and videos reportedly circulating on social media platforms are being shared, though viewers are warned to proceed with caution.

GoFundMe Launched for 4xtra

In response to rising medical costs, 4xtra's sister Emily launched a GoFundMe campaign seeking £22,000 ($30,000) to cover his bills and rehabilitation. The campaign has raised £5,956 ($8,098) so far.

'Hello, my name is Emily and I'm 4xtra's sister. I'm starting this GoFundMe to help with his medical expenses. On the 4th of July, 4xtra was injured in a firework accident. As many of you know, medical care can be incredibly expensive and add up very fast,' Emily explained.

She added: '4xtra lights up every room with his humour and energy. If you've ever laughed with him, shared a moment, or simply care about his well-being, any support—from donations to prayers or even just sharing this—means the world to us.'

4xtra's Accident Becomes a Joke

Social media has offered a range of responses: some users expressed sympathy, while others used humour to cope. Some joked that his name might now be 'minus2' or '3xtra.' Others speculated that the fireworks were substandard.

One X user noted: 'The fireworks didn't even have any logo... they sold 4xtra some Looney Tunes explosives.'

Another suggested sabotage: 'Someone must have rigged the fuse to burn up really fast.'

Dr Robert Biernbaum, chief medical officer at WellNow Urgent Care, warned that the 4th of July is one of the busiest days for emergency care due to fireworks.

'We see everything from minor hand and facial burns to severe trauma from fireworks exploding in close proximity,' he said. He added that injuries are often linked to illegal or improvised fireworks, noting that the device used by 4xtra bore no logo, though it remains unclear whether it was legally bought or homemade.
