Overview

Gareth Bale, Marco Asensio, Lucas Vasquez and Alvaro Morata all got on the score sheet as Real Madrid secured a comprehensive 5-1 home win over Legia Warsaw in the Champions League on 18 October. Zinedine Zidane's side are on a 14-match unbeaten run at the Santiago Bernabeu in all competitions.

Sergio Ramos, Luka Modric and Casemiro remain sidelined through injury for the hosts.

Athletic Bilbao fell to a 2-0 defeat away at Genk on 20 October to sink to the bottom of their Europa League group. The Basque club have lost four of their last six meetings with Real Madrid.

Defender Yeray Alvarez suffered an ankle injury in the Genk match and will miss the trip to the Bernabeu.

What managers say

Zinedine Zidane: "[Cristiano] Ronaldo played phenomenally, playing passes to everyone else. He didn't score today but we have a game in four days' time and I'm sure he'll have chances to score then. I look at Cristiano tonight and he has given two passes for the goals. That's part of his game. He didn't score tonight, but he scored three days ago [against Real Betis] and he is contributing. I am happy with him."

Ernesto Valverde: "It was a very bad result for us [against Genk]. Our first half was very poor. In the second half we tried to step it up, but it was very difficult."
