Motörhead frontman and heavy metal legend Ian 'Lemmy' Kilmister's funeral is to take place in Hollywood on Saturday, 9 January. The entire memorial service will be live-streamed on YouTube, starting from 10:30pm GMT. The ceremony itself begins at 11pm GMT.

The stream on Motörhead's official YouTube account invites everyone to get involved:

"We want you ALL to be a part of this memorial service. So wherever you are, PLEASE get together and watch with fellow Motörheadbangers and friends. GO to your favorite bar, or your favorite club, make sure they have access to an internet connection and toast along with us. Or simply invite your pals around and celebrate Lemm's life at home. Whatever your venue, and however you can, let's be sure to gather globally on Saturday 9th and celebrate the life of our dear friend and irreplaceable icon."

Lemmy was the founder and lead-singer of heavy metal band, Motörhead. He died at the age of 70 at his home "after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer" the band said on their Facebook page. Lemmy was born in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, in 1945.
