Footballer Romelu Lukaku has been arrested in Beverly Hills after police were called to his luxury villa – where he is holidaying with Manchester United's Paul Pogba – to investigate reports of a raucous house party.

TMZ Sports reports that law enforcement sources said Lukaku is renting a home in Beverly Hills and hosted a huge day party on 2 July – leaving his neighbours disturbed and upset. The party triggered multiple complaints to the Beverly Hills police department.

Police visited the home at least six times to tell Lukaku to keep the noise down, but he reportedly refused to listen and was eventually arrested on misdemeanour disturbing the peace charges.

Though the 24-year-old Everton forward was not brought to the police station or formally booked, he was given a citation.

Pogba, also 24, hasn't addressed the alleged drama on his Instagram account, and instead continued to lap up the sunshine on his LA trip with pal Lukaku.

The footballers appeared to have spent the 4th of July in the US and are sharing a luxurious villa complete with floor-to-ceiling views of its sprawling garden, which includes a massive swimming pool.

The holiday comes as Lukaku appears set to complete a move from Everton to Manchester United after the clubs agreed a £75 million fee for the Belgium international.

After the deal was officially announced on Saturday morning (8 July), Pogba posted a video on Instagram of the new teammates celebrating together.

The clip sees Lukaku approach Pogba and say: "See you tomorrow in training."

Pogba replies: "What? Are you serious?"

Lukaku follows up with: "Yes, training tomorrow."

Lukaku is set to undergo a medical in Los Angeles and will link up with Jose Mourinho's side on Sunday. The team will travel to the US to begin a pre-season tour on Sunday.

Another epic video on Pogba's Instagram account shows a bird's eye view of their huge cliff-side white villa, with the footballer captioning the clip: "One day to go back, are you ready? ⚽️ #endofholidays#findesvacances."

Fans commented on the clip in droves, with one writing: "Come on pogba am ya biggest fan and i hope u the best next season and inshallah u will score more goals and have a better game."

Another added: "Good job bringing Lukaku to the club......."
