Shahrukh Khan to Reunite With Chennai Express Director in Bollywood Remake of Mr & Mrs Smith?

Shahrukh Khan fans have been eagerly waiting to find out when the actor will reunite with director Rohit Shetty to repeat the success of their last film Chennai Express.

According to the latest rumours, the actor-director's next collaboration will be for a remake of the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie starrer action thriller Mr & Mrs Smith, reports indiatimes.

"The 2005 Pitt and Jolie flick about a husband-wife duo of professional assassins remains one of the most popular Hollywood flicks on Indian movie channels enjoying repeated reruns," states the report.

However, maybe it's too early for fans to rejoice. A source close to SRK told IB Times UK: "We have no idea where these rumours are coming from".

SRK seems to be making a deliberate attempt to move away from the regular romantic roles he's known for, towards action comedies like his last film Chennai Express and the upcoming Happy New Year.

His inclination towards stylised action films is quite evident from his recent choice of films like Ra One and the Don series.

In Chennai Express, Shetty got SRK to perform a lot of heavy-duty stunts, so the stakes can only get higher from here on, states the indiatimes report. Shetty is slated to begin work on his next project with SRK after the release of Singham Returns.

But while SRK is rumoured to play Pitt's part, we wonder which actress would be able to essay Jolie's role. Reportedly, there have been whispers about Katrina Kaif. Other suitable names could be Priyanka Chopra or Chitrangada Singh.
