After recently launching the Xperia Z4, aka Xperia Z3+ globally, Sony is now rumoured to be launching a new high-end smartphone apparently going by the name Xperia T4 Ultra.

As per a MobiPicker report, the Xperia T4 Ultra, featuring a "bezel-free" design, will be released in August 2015.

This handset bears model number E5503 and features high-end tech-specs, according to MobiPicker.

The pricing of the smartphone is said to be similar to that of the earlier Xperia T2 Ultra, released in 2014. The smartphone costs £245 in the UK and $240 in the US.

The key technical specifications of Xperia T4 Ultra, as per MobiPicker are:

  • 5.5in full HD display
  • Android 5.0 (Lollipop) operating platform out of the box
  • 1.7 GHz octa-core CPU in a MediaTek MT6752 SoC
  • 13MP rear camera
  • 2GB RAM
  • LTE, HSPA, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 2.0 and microUSB connectivity
  • MicroSD card slot for expansion of internal storage

The phone's battery configurations and internal storage are not yet known.

Apart from the speculated Xperia T4 Ultra, codenamed Lavender, Sony is also rumoured to be launching an upgraded Xperia Z5 featuring a powerful 4,500 mAh battery in September 2015. This smartphone is said to be a superior variant of Sony's recent Xperia Z3+, with fixes for the reported overheating problem.
