Earlier this month, the 14.2.A.1.142 firmware was certified for a few Xperia devices such as Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact on PTCRB for all the variants. And now the official Android 4.3 14.2.A.1.142 update has been released for the Xperia Z1 Compact with model number D5503, reports Xperia Guide.

The firmware is available via PC Companion as well as Sony Update Service (SUS). Connect the Xperia Z1 Compact to PC Companion and look for the firmware update notification. The update is currently available for users in Taiwan and Italy.

As it is a phased roll-out, the update may not be available for all users at the moment. The timing and availability might vary according to the market and carrier. Below is the ftf link for the 14.2.A.1.142 build. After downloading the ftf file, users can install this on the phone through FlashTool.

Sony is yet to provide the official changelog for the new firmware update. As the Xperia Blog notes, the update does not bring any noticeable change and is likely to be a bug-fix update. The similar software is expected to be released soon for Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra.
