Overview

Sri Lanka's winning momentum was broken after England managed to win their first match of the seven-match series on Wednesday. The Three Lions sealed a victory by five wickets with the help of the Duckworth-Lewis method.

Due to bad weather, the match was reduced to 35 overs and Sri Lanka decided to bat first and they managed to score 235 runs. Kumar Sangakkara and Lahiru Thirimanne's knock of 60 plus runs helped them reach the total.

However, England had no trouble in chasing the target as they managed it with eight balls to spare. Jos Buttler's unbeaten knock of 55 off 37 balls at the end proved vital for the visitors.

After the third ODI defeat, Sri Lanka are leading the series 2-1 and England will be looking to level the series by sealing their second win on Sunday.

Meanwhile, England will be without their skipper Alastair Cook after he was suspended for slow over rate in the third match.
