Stephen Amell wants his sidekick, Roy Harper aka Arsenal, back for Arrow season 5. Actor Colton Haynes played Harper for 2 seasons on Arrow and left the show at the end of season 3.

Amell held a live Q&A on Facebook, where he was asked if he wants to see Nightwing in season 5 of Arrow. The actor paused and replied, "You know, I feel like I'm good with Roy Harper. Let's get Roy Harper back."

Haynes left the show heroically as his character "sacrificed" himself to protect Oliver Queen in the finale episode of season 3. However, Arsenal returned for a special episode in Arrow season 4. Harper returned to Star city under the influence of villain Calculator to steal a battery, which could be used to power a nuke device. Arsenal was later rescued by Oliver Queen's team.

Amell, who is currently in China to promote Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows, shared the news of Carly Pope joining Arrow season 5. Amell said in the live chat, "I haven't really been able to access the Internet that much, but it was incredible to log on today and see all of the amazing news. We have Carly Pope coming on board."

As previously reported by TV Line, Pope will play Susan Williams, a journalist from Coast City in Arrow season 5. Susan, who will make her debut in episode 3, comes to Star City and targets the new mayor, Oliver Queen for a big story. In the DC Comics, the reporter is married to Jim Jordan, the little brother of Coast City's resident hero Green Lantern, aka Hal Jordan.

Other than Pope, the new cast for season 5 includes, Josh Segarra as the series-regular role of DA Adrian Chase aka Vigilante, Rick Gonzalez as the DC Comics character Wild Dog, Chad L Coleman as new villain Tobias Church and Tyler Ritter as SCPD Detective Malone.

Arrow season 5 premieres 5 October on The CW network.
