Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is set for 12:45pm GMT. Live coverage is on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD. Radio commentary of the game will be on BBC Radio 5 Live. Catch the highlights of the game on Match of the Day on BBC One and BBC One HD at 10:50pm GMT.

Overview

Swansea have had a dismal December in 2013 and have gone without a win after their 3-0 victory against Newcastle United in the league. Michael Laudrup will be hoping to put the past behind and lay the groundwork for his team to start the New Year with a win as they aim for a top-half finish in the Premier League.

The Swans came from behind in their previous fixture against Aston Villa to salvage a 1-1 draw courtesy of a goal from Roland Lamah. The Welsh club have played 19 matches and are currently 11th in the league table with 21 points.

City have won all their matches at home but have found it difficult to replicate the form on their travels this season. The Sky Blues have won only three of the nine matches on their travels and Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping that his men hit the ground running and start 2014 with all the three points.

City comfortably dispatched the Welsh side by three goals when the two teams clashed in December at the Etihad Stadium. However, the 2011/12 English Champions have the highest goal scoring tally this season with 54 goals in the league. The Sky Blues are one of the favourites to win the Premier League this season and are second in the table with 41 points after 19 matches, one less than league leaders Arsenal.

What Managers Say

Michael Laudrup: "I think we can do a little better. We are a couple of points short from what I expected, halfway through the competition. I think we can get a little more in the second half than we did last year, and then we will end up, hopefully, achieving what we want to achieve. If we can consolidate ourselves as a mid-table team in our third season, that's great."

Manuel Pellegrini: "I think that it was a fantastic month for us. We played nine games during December; we won eight and drew just one. It's very important to finish the year in the position that we wanted to be. It's always better to be first, but to recover six points in a month is a great thing."
