Amy Kaufman Responds to 'Patient Zero' Theory

Kaufman herself has not claimed that Swift used her column as inspiration.

After the theory went viral, she told the Los Angeles Times, 'I hope she read it, but if it inspired her song, that's news to me.' The newspaper also said it had contacted Swift's long-time representative Tree Paine seeking clarification.
