In the initial interaction, Woods spoke calmly with deputies and offered a brief explanation for the crash, telling officers he had been distracted. At one point, he said he 'looked down' before the collision, suggesting his attention had shifted away from the road moments before the accident.

Despite the severity of the crash, officers noted that Woods did not appear panicked. Instead, the footage shows him responding casually to questions about his condition, even as first responders insisted on a medical evaluation. 'I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,' the golf star said. 'I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.'
