Tottenham Hotspur take on Newcastle United for the weekend Premier League clash at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is set for 12pm GMT. Live coverage is on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD. Catch the highlights of the game on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One and BBC One HD at 10:25pm GMT.

Overview

The Spurs enter this game after registering a 2-1 win over Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League fixture earlier this midweek. The north London club's summer signing Erik Lamela scored his first goal for the English club before Jermain Defoe doubled the lead from a spot kick.

The victory at home has seen Andre Villas-Boas' side qualify for the next round of the European competition. In the previous league fixture, the Spurs shared a point with Everton as the tie at Goodison Park ended in a goalless draw.

Meanwhile, Newcastle come into the fixture after their 2-0 victory over Chelsea at St James' Park. Yoan Gouffran opened the scoring for Alan Pardew's side before on-loan striker from Queens Park Rangers Loic Remy's strike in the final moments of the game saw the Europa League suffer a defeat away from home.

The Magpies now sit 11 in the Premier League table with 14 points from 10 games while the Spurs are sixth with 20 points from 10 games. A victory for AVB's men could see them climb to the top four.

What Managers Say

Andre Villas-Boas: "They are now picking up great results. They are always a team that want to be in the competition for the teams that qualify for Europe. That is probably their expectancy given the investment they do every year."

Alan Pardew: "I genuinely think there is a good spirit among the group. They like each other. They believe in each other and that is being reflected on the pitch. In the Barclays Premier League, a strong Newcastle is always good. We have been a bit up and down in certain games but we have been good entertainment this year."
