European giants Barcelona, Chelsea and Arsenal moved a step closer to qualification for the Champions League knockout stages as they eased to victories over Viktoria Plzen, Genk and Marseille respectively.

In Group H, defending champions Barcelona recorded a comfortable home win over Czech side Plen, who failed to register a single shot on target.

Andres Iniesta gave Barcelona the lead in the 10th minute before David Villa cemented the win with a second eight minutes from time. The score line flattered Plzen, as the Spanish side wasted a number of chances throughout the one-sided encounter.

In London, Fernando Torres scored twice as a rampant Chelsea beat Genk 5-0 at Stamford Bridge. Raul Meireles opened the scoring with a well-struck 25-yard effort before Torres doubled Chelsea's advantage three minutes later.

The Spain international headed his second 15 minutes later to put Chelsea three up, before Branislav Ivanovic gave Andre Villas-Boas' side a 4-0 half-time lead. Substitute Saloman Kalou prodded home the home side's fifth to equal their biggest Champions League win and give them a one point lead at the top of Group E.

In France, substitute Aaron Ramsey scored a stoppage time winner to lift Arsenal to the top of Group F at the expense of Marseille.

The Welsh midfielder was on hand to rifle in after Johan Djourou's cross was deflected into his path.
