Pre-requisites

  • The Android 5.0.2 Resurrection Remix ROM (v5.3.2) is meant for HTC One X only. Do not attempt installing this ROM on any other device as it may inadvertently damage or brick the device. Verify the device's model number via Settings > About Phone.

  • Ensure that your phone is rooted with its bootloader unlocked.

Steps to update HTC One X to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with CyanogenMod based Resurrection Remix ROM

Step 1 - Download Resurrection Remix ROM and Google Apps for HTC One X to your computer and extract the boot.img file from ROM zip separately.

Step 2 - Connect and mount the phone's USB mass storage on computer via USB cable.

Step 3 - Copy the downloaded Resurrection Remix ROM zip file and Google Apps zip files to the root folder on your phone's SD card. Step 4 – Then copy the boot.img file to android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory.

Step 5 – Power off your phone.

Step 6 – Now boot the device into Bootloader/fastboot mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down and Power buttons together.

Step 7 – HTC One X should now power up and enter the Fastboot mode. Navigate to android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory (on your computer) and launch Command Prompt (hold Shift with Right-click and then select Open Command Prompt in the context menu).

Step 8 - Type the following command and hit Enter:

fastboot flash boot boot.img

Step 9 - Then, enter the following command:

fastboot reboot

Step 10 - Follow the onscreen navigation instructions and then select BOOTLOADER option to progress into RECOVERY.

Step 11 - In CWM Recovery, perform a full data wipe by selecting Wipe data/Factory Reset. Note: Use the Power button to select the desired option in Recovery Mode.

Step 12 – Now do a Wipe Cache Partition as well as Dalvik cache wipe via advanced options in CWM recovery.

Step 14- Return to the main recovery screen and select install zip from SD card.

Step 15 - Select choose zip from sdcard. Use volume keys to navigate to Android5.0.2 Resurrection Remix ROM zip file that you copied earlier to your phone's SD card and select it by tapping the Power button. Confirm the ROM installation on next screen and the installation procedure should begin.

Google Apps: Repeat the previous two steps for installing Google Apps as well.

Step 16 – Once both the ROM and Gapps are installed, select "+++++Go Back+++++" and reboot the phone by tapping on Reboot System Now from the recovery menu.

Your One X will reboot now and it may take about five minutes to finish first boot. So, please do not interrupt the process.

That is it. Your HTC One X is now running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop via Resurrection Remix ROM. Go to Settings > About phone to verify the ROM installed.
