The US-Israel-Iran war shows no sign of abating. After four days of fighting, several US bases have been attacked and a number of people killed, while thousands more have been displaced across the region.

President Donald Trump has been firm about his intention to protect American interests, authorising significant military force against Iran. Trump has cited ongoing threats from the Iranian regime, including its nuclear programme, as justification for the intervention.

Shocking Video of the Attack

Following the joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian vowed to retaliate. A video has since emerged on X, appearing to show an Iranian drone striking the US consulate in Dubai.

The footage depicts an Iranian drone hitting the building. A massive fire and smoke engulfed the building premises. The move is believed to be crucial because it proves that the war will not end soon. Pezeshkian said that bloodshed and revenge are Iran's legitimate right and duty, and he intends to keep his word.

The UAE managed to contain the fires following the drone attack, and no casualties were reported. The country has also intercepted 11 ballistic missiles and 123 drones on Tuesday. As of writing, only one missile landed within the country's territory, but no casualties were reported.

Embassies Closed, Americans Urged to Leave

Several US embassies have been ordered to close following the attack. Missions in Saudi Arabia, Beirut and Kuwait are currently not operational, and Americans residing in those countries have been urged to leave the region. Some airports in the affected areas remain inaccessible, with limited transport options available.

A number of senior Iranian figures have been killed in the coordinated strikes, including former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with his daughter, son-in-law and grandson. Other figures killed include Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran's Defence Council; Abdolrahim Mousavi, chief of staff of Iran's armed forces; and Aziz Nasirzadeh, Iran's former defence minister.

In retaliatory strikes, at least 11 people have been killed in Israel and six US military personnel have lost their lives. Trump issued a statement expressing condolences and gratitude for the service members' sacrifice, while warning that further casualties remain possible.

Venezuela Cited as Possible Model

Trump has said the conflict could last a further four to five weeks. At a press conference on Tuesday, he raised concerns that Iran's next leader could prove equally hostile to the US, citing the transition in Venezuela following the ousting of Nicolás Maduro as a possible reference point.

'I guess the worst case would be we do this, and then somebody takes over who's as bad as the previous person, right? That could happen. We don't want that to happen. It would probably be the worst. You go through this and then, in five years, you realise you put somebody in who is no better,' Trump said.

In a separate statement, Trump warned that Maduro's vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, who was sworn in as interim leader following Maduro's ousting, could face consequences if she does not cooperate with the US.
