Scandal season 5
The political thriller by ABC will jump six months forward after its midseason hiatus ABC

Thank God it's Thursday! Shondaland is back with the midseason premiere of Scandal season 5. Titled It's Hard Out Here For A General, episode 10 will begin six months after Olivia Pope and President Fitz Grant broke up. The gladiator boss was unhappy with the sudden responsibilities that came with being the First Lady and finally accepts that she has had enough of the relationship.

In the upcoming episode, the on-again off-again couple will move on in their lives. While Fitz will concentrate on doing his best as POTUS, Liv will go on to solve cases along with her gladiators.

A promo released by ABC network reveals an awkward meeting between Liv and Fitz's ex-wife Mellie Grant. She emerges as a powerful woman once she is out of the shadow of her former husband. Apart from fighting the upcoming presidential election, she will also write her autobiography and seek advice from the most awkward person, Liv. She drops in at the crisis manager's office, offers her the biography and insists Liv reads it

The official synopsis of the midseason premiere reads: It's Hard out Here for a General – It's been six months since Olivia and Fitz have broken up, and they are both handling their newfound freedom in very different ways. Meanwhile, the Pope and Associates team take on a case that could lead to a national crisis on the red-hot return of Scandal.
