Watch True Detective season 2 episode 2 live stream: Ani and Ray search for reasons behind Ben Caspere's death

True Detective season 2 got off to a bad start as it garnered poor reviews from critics and the show witnessed a decline in viewership. However, in the upcoming episode, the plot is likely to get intense, after viewers were just introduced to four important characters of the HBO crime thriller.

Episode 2 of the show is titled Night Finds You, where detective Ray Velcro (Colin Farrell) and detective Ani Bezzerides (Rachel McAdams) will conclude that Ben Caspere's fascination for prostitutes may be the real reason behind his murder.

In the premiere episode patrolman Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch) discovered a body on a lonely stretch of Pacific Coast Highway outside the city limits of Los Angeles.

Ray and Ani will be investigating the disappearance and gruesome murder of the city planner Caspere. But investigating the crime will not be easy for Ani as her partner is a highly compromised police officer, whose loyalties remain with former crime lord Frank Seymon (Vince Vaughn).

The synopsis of the upcoming episode reads as follows:

"Ray and Ani investigate a victim's depraved background, as does Frank, while Paul probes the Vinci PD."

Meanwhile, Frank starts an independent investigation to find the real culprit behind his partner Caspar's murder, as he has invested huge sums of money in his high speed rail development venture.

As the series progresses, fans will get to know more about the mysterious background of McAdams and Farrell's characters. The real reason behind the awkward connection between Ray and Frank, will also be revealed during the upcoming episodes.

True Detective season 2 airs every Sunday night on HBO.
