Sony Xperia Z3
The waterproof credentials of Sony's Xperia Z3 have been put to the test Sony

While most reports and reviews focus on its amazing battery life, ultra-bright 600 nit screen and solid imaging, a new video has explored Sony Xperia Z3's fantastic waterproof rating in some depth.

Viewers are able to watch an underwater unboxing of the smartphone, which comes via British electronics retailer chain Carphone Warehouse. Check it out below.

The Sony Xperia Z3 has one of the highest dust and waterproof ratings. To be specific, it has P65/68 certification, and can stay underwater for more than an hour in up to five feet of depth without damage to its internal components. In other words, you can dunk this smartphone underwater for a selfie in the blue and bring out it unscathed.

The Xperia Z3 is Sony's latest flagship offering and is widely considered as one of the best options out there for those in search of a high-end smartphone. It comes with a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) Triluminos display and is backed by the propitiatory X-Reality mobile picture engine.

For imaging, it retains the 20.7-megapixel autofocus rear camera of its predecessor. The rear camera is again capable of 4K (Ultra-HD) video recording, and features an Exmor RS apart from pulsed LED flash. Also on-board is a 2.2-megapixel front camera.
