A video showing a woman giving birth at 30,000ft on a flight to the United States from Taiwan has become an internet sensation. The video was posted on social media by fellow passenger Edmund Chen on Monday (12 October).

The woman was eight months pregnant and told the cabin crew six hours into the flight that her waters had broken. A doctor who happened to be on the flight helped to deliver the baby.

The video shows flight attendants holding the baby moments after it is born and wrapping the baby in blankets, with passengers clapping. Chen witnessed the entire process and said it was "amazing to watch" and a "lifetime opportunity".
