Hugh Jackman finally revealed the heavy price he could have paid to wear those sharp metal blades on his knuckles for his mutant character Wolverine.

Jackman almost chopped his penis off during a nude scene shoot for his latest movie X-Men Days of the Future Past, revealed the Australian star sharing details about his embarrassing injury during The Graham Norton Show.

The actor admitted to walking nude during an intimate scene. When he encountered some female crew members he tried to hide his essentials while wearing his signature Wolverine claws and ended up injuring his inner thigh.

"There was a very intense first scene and I insisted on a closed set. I ran round the corner and all the female members of the crew were gathered there, the 45-year-old actor said during the British chat show.

"I tried to cover myself and cut my inner thigh - it was just the inner thigh thankfully. The metal claws had to go - you can't have bits and pieces flying off.''

Meanwhile Jackman appeared to be done with X-Men after playing Logan, the Wolverine for almost 10 years. In an interview with SFX, the actor expressed his willingness to move away from the blockbuster franchise and revealed that the next Wolverine movie could be his last.

"I don't know yet. We're talking it through. I still am very ambitious for the character. And tonally I feel like we corrected the ship with the last one. But I feel we can still go further, in a way. If I did another one I'm 99.9% sure it would be the last, so that will inform what it is for me," Jackman told the website.

The actor is yet to sign the deal to reprise his role in the third instalment of the mutant movie but expressed his excitement for the forthcoming Wolverine project.

"I'm excited to see what we can come up with, but I haven't signed on signed on. I'm genuinely at that point where unless it's better than the last one I'm not going to do it."

"What's exciting is that you can make it a more interior story, and people actually prefer that. And that was good to show and convince everyone - especially everyone who greenlights the movies," he added.

Hugh Jackman is all set to create panic among the bad mutants with his metal claws in the X-Men: Days of Future Past. The movie is directed by Bryan Singer and will premiere on May 23.
