Samsung Galaxy S5 users in Russia and Poland can now obtain the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update via OTA. Reuters

The Android 5.0 (Lollipop) OS upgrade which started rolling out to the high-end Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone in South Korea late in 2014, later reaching Poland, has now expanded to Russia and Malaysia.

This update is applicable only to users of Samsung Galaxy S5 via the over-the-air (OTA) mechanism.

Samsung Galaxy S5 users in Russia can look out for Android 5.0 build number G900FDXU1BNL3, and those in Malaysia for build number G900FDXXU1BNL9.

If you have received notifications for the new firmware update on your smartphone, navigate to Settings > System > About Device > Software Update > Update

Android 5.0 is not yet available in the US and UK, which normally face delays in the update seeding process as the software is supplied to smartphone owners via mobile carriers who will will put it through testing before rollout.
