Android 5.1.1 update is now available for more Xperia Z3 Dual owners across the globe. Sony

The Android 5.1.1 firmware is now available for Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633) in various regions across the globe.

The update, which Sony commenced on 21 July, is now seeding for Z3 Dual users in regions such as Brazil, Hong Kong, the Middle East, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the US. Some of those who have installed the 23.4.A.0.546 stock firmware build have reported that the USSD codes are not working.

"USSD doesn't work and date on the notification bar clashes with icons, 4G icons gets a lot of space too," observes an XDA forum member.

But the battery standby has improved after the update, along with working animations without lag and mobile data.

According to a review shared by recognised XDA developer, Jozinek, the update brings a new launcher and allows users to switch the icon size from smaller version to big ones. The home-screen rotation feature, which was earlier limited to a few Sony handsets, is now available for the Z3 Dual model.

Additionally, the sound setting in Priority Mode seems to be better than the previous Android Lollipop version 5.0.2. The camera also works faster.

The forum members have captured the FTF links for the OTA. If you are looking for a manual installation, you can use the links.
