Overview

Men's Singles

The men's singles fixtures have the likes of Djokovic and third seed David Ferrer in action, who will take on Adrian Mannarino of France in the second round. The top seeds have all made it to the second round relatively easily and will be favourites to move into the next round given the draw of fixtures.

Djokovic, who defeated Paul-Henri Mathieu from France in straight sets in the first round will be up against Mayer who defeated Albert Montanes in straight sets in the first round. The world number two is expected to make easy meal of his opponent and will go into the game as overwhelming favourites.

Meanwhile, Ferrer got the better of Alejandro Gonzalez in straight sets in the first round and will now face Mannarino who got the better of Steve Johnson in five sets. However, the Spaniard will be wary of his performance in the first round, where having gone 5-0 up in the first set, allowed his opponent to come back into the game before winning the set 6-3. He is likely to face stiff competition from the Frenchman, which will be a real test of his title credentials.

Seventh seed Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic will take on Frenchman Kenny De Scheppe followed by eighth seed Stanislas Wawrinka who will face Colombian Alejandro Falla. Ninth seed Richard Gasquet will compete against Nikolay Davydenko from Russia to complete a star studded men's segment on the third day.

Women's Singles

Meanwhile, in the women's segment top seed Serena will take on Dolonc in the second round. The American cruised into the third round with victory in straight sets over Australian Ashleigh Barty and will be favourites to make it to the next round. Meanwhile, Dolonc got the better of Spaniard Lara Arruabarrena in three sets, scripting a brilliant comeback after going down in the first set.
