A week after Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik supposedly called it quits, the 21-year-old model was seen clinging onto the former One Direction star, as they walked out of Hadid's NYC apartment building. According to TMZ, the alleged ex-lovers showcased no signs of being broken up. The day before, Hadid was also spotted leaving her apartment shortly after Malik made his exit from the same building.

The two had reportedly parted ways when Malik "broke the news to Gigi two weeks after her birthday", Hollywood Life reported. According to E! Online, a source said, "During her birthday they [Hadid and Malik] were fighting." The source added that the two had "broken up and got back together a few times [earlier]."

Another source told the website: "Zayn and Gigi did break up, but they can likely get back together tomorrow. It's all very unclear what's going on between them now. They've been having some issues lately that involved communication and getting along."

Hadid and Malik started dating last year following the singer's split from ex-fiancée, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards.

Edwards is apparently "relieved" to not be a part of all the "chaos" and the "drama." According to Hollywood Life, the 22-year-old Edwards feels "happy" to have moved on to a "different place in her life."

"Perrie isn't surprised that there is already drama circling around Zayn and Gigi. Are they together? Did they split? She's just relieved that she's not part of it," a source told the magazine.

"She knows the chaos all too well. The downs with Zayn were exhausting and she's just happy that she's in a different place in her life now," the source added. The British singer was engaged to 23-year-old Malik back in 2013, before the English singer suddenly called off their engagement in 2015. While their romance lasted a while, Malik's relationship with his supermodel girlfriend is only seven months old and is already having problems.
