Justice League
How does The Flash factor into Batman v Superman and Justice League Warner Bros

While fans are aware that Ezra Miller's Flash has a cameo in Batman v Superman. The primary question of how the DC hero will factor into the film remains to be seen. Nonetheless, there seems to be some clarity on the subject.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Batman v Superman will feature several dream sequences which will foreshadow some of the threats as well as potential saviours – namely members of The Justice League. A glimpse of one such dream sequence has been witnessed in the trailer where Batman is fighting and is imprisoned by what seems to be a Superman army in a desert. Another similar scene will feature The Flash.

As per director Zack Snyder, there is a kind of A Christmas Carol aspect to these visions. Maybe they are true glimpses of the future – or maybe they're warnings. The Flash appears in one such nightmare of Bruce Wayne's, delivering a cryptic message to the Dark Knight.

Fans will have to debate whether it was really a dream, or maybe the speeding superhero breaking through time-space to deliver a warning. Synder calls this "a giant Easter egg" that he hopes will spawn plenty of online theories.

"We had such a straightforward narrative, on one hand, I wanted this other layer of the movie to be complicated and bizarre," he said. Could it be The Flash travelling back in time to warn Batman about a potential catastrophe awaiting them in the future?

All will be revealed when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in theatres on 25 March 2016.
