Is Beyoncé Redefining Motherhood? Singer Posts Sexy Picture With Blue Ivy

When Beyoncé took to the stage at the 2014 Grammy Awards in a sheer black bodysuit and tights to perform a raunchy duet with her rapper husband Jay Z, it was easy to forget that she was a mother.

As she showed off her cabaret-style moves on a chair and twerked suggestively at Jay Z, men everywhere were captivated by her sultry moves and women were in awe of her ability to make motherhood look sexy without breaking a sweat.

But after the hype surrounding the performance subsided, critics were quick to criticise her for bringing sex to a family show while others accused Jay Z of being a "poor excuse for a husband" and sexually- exploiting her.

"What do you call a man who stands there smiling and singing as his scantily clad wife straddles a chair and shakes her rear end for other men's titillation?" New York Post writer Naomi Riley asked rhetorically.

The conversation was not new territory.

In 2013, exactly a year after giving birth to Blue Ivy, the Single Ladies hit diva showed off her post-baby body by stripping off and posing for GQ magazine in her underwear.

Even back then, she faced backlash from critics who insisted a mother and wife had no business posing half-naked for a magazine.

But what does Queen B have to say to those who question her parenting skills?

"I'm a grown woman, I can do whatever I want," she sings on one of the tracks on her new self-entitled album.

It is clear that she has embraced her sexuality and has no problem bringing the intimacy many people save for the bedroom onto the stage.

"I don't have any shame about being sexual. I'm not embarrassed about it. And I don't feel like I have to protect that side of me," she said in a mini-documentary about her new album.

"Just because you become a mother it doesn't mean you lose who you are."

And a quick scan of her Tumblr page is further proof she has no intention of becoming a Stepford housewife anytime soon.

In the newest set of intimate photos posted, the 32-year-old star can be seen lounging in a satin robe and lingerie while her daughter Blue Ivy plays in front of her.

Wearing a full face of makeup, she sits crossed-legged and plays with her hair as the toddler clutches an iPhone.
