Brad Pitt is reportedly in "bad shape" after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce on 19 September, citing irreconcilable differences. Reports suggest that the Allied star has been constantly speaking to his parents and is seeking their support following his split from 41-year-old actress.

According to Us Weekly, the 52-year-old actor has been crushed as to "what his life has become" but their six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne 8 – are the only solace he has been hanging onto following the split.

"He [Pitt] can't believe this is what his life has become, and he's in bad shape, but the kids are the only thing he's hanging onto," a source told the magazine. "He's been leaning heavily on his family and speaks to his parents and close friends and his manager constantly. His mom has been talking to him constantly."

Earlier, reports claimed that Pitt "has been crying" after his wife filed for divorce and was concerned how the split would affect their children.

"He is beside himself and has been crying. He was completely caught off guard. Brad is in a mess right now. He isn't able to see the kids and he is desperately trying to make sure they are OK by calling valued members of his and Angelina's staff," a source was quoted as saying.

"He isn't worried about his own reputation right now. His complete and utter devastation has come from what his children are going through," the source added.
