Courteney Cox has come out in support of her friend Jennifer Aniston amid Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's divorce. The Friends star has said that the Horrible Bosses actress's ex-husband and Jolie's divorce has nothing to do with the 47-year-old actress.

A day after Jolie filed for divorce from the Allied actor on 19 September, citing irreconcilable differences, the second popular hashtag on Twitter was #JenniferAniston after #Brangelina.

"It's not about [Jennifer Aniston]. I feel like we're exacerbating it by even talking about it," Cox told Entertainment Tonight at Revlon's Annual Philanthropic Luncheon in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Aniston's husband Justin Theroux has also slammed at attempts to drag his wife into the divorce drama.

"There's an endless appetite for trash, apparently – though everyone would say that they don't have that appetite. But I think a lot of people do because people buy it. But there are bigger things to bitch about. It's shocking how much bandwidth things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world," the 45-year-old actor told Business Insider.

Meanwhile, Pitt has issued a statement, saying that he can't make it for the premiere of the Voyage of Time as he is focused on his "family situation". The premiere of the movie is set to take place at the California Science Center on Wednesday (28 September).

"Terrence's Voyage of Time is an incredibly beautiful and unique experiential IMAX film for children and families chronicling the birth of time. I'm very grateful to be part of such a fascinating and educational project, but I'm currently focused on my family situation and don't want to distract attention away from this extraordinary film, which I encourage everyone to see," Pitt said in a statement, according to USA TODAY.

Pitt and Jolie married in August 2014 after meeting on the sets of their 2005 film Mr & Mrs Smith. The couple share six children: Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.
