Britney Spears' father has been accused of physically abusing his older grandchild. He is reportedly under active investigation by authorities. Jamie Spears has allegedly abused his 13-year-old grandson, Sean Preston.

Britney Spears' children went to visit their grandfather, Jamie Spears, at his Ventura County home on August 24. Her elder son Sean Preston,13, "got into an argument" with his grandfather. The latter got angry, busted through the door and grabbed the minor.

"This resulted in the child being afraid," sources said speaking to Daily News. The 37-year-old singer's father later dropped her two sons at their father Kevin Federline's house for the night. It was the protective father who reported the incident to the Ventura County Sheriff on August 25. A law enforcement restraining order was issued almost immediately.

Federline and his high-profile divorce attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan planned to file the paperwork for a domestic violence restraining order on Tuesday.

The "Femme Fatale" singer's divorce lawyer, Laura Wasser and Federline's lawyer took the middle path and decided to keep the senior Spears away from the children. The deal became a court order on Tuesday.

The new civil order "restricts" the senior Spears to be around the both the 13-year-old Sean Preston and the 12-year-old Jayden James. Federline holds the sole legal and primary physical custody of his sons.

"Kevin wants to assure that Britney has the most reasonable custody with the kids that is consistent with their best interests," said Kaplan. He added the children loved their mother and that Federline had no intention of ruining that.

The past few months have been very hard for Britney and she took to Instagram in August and shared that she is unable to understand whom to trust, Entertainment Tonight reports.

In April, she went to a health facility to cope up with the tremendous stress she was going through. Her fans started a campaign under the hashtag "#FreeBritney" as they got to know that she was kept there against her will. The singer later was allowed to go out, but she always had an escort.

She also appeared in court for her conservatorship and was granted a permanent five-year restraining order from her manager, Sam Lutfi.

It was then that her father became her sole conservator. He bought a house of $128,000 over and above the $1.1 million in expenses from her legal and conservator fees. The senior Spears is his daughter's conservator since 2008, and became her sole conservator after his co-conservator, Andrew Wallet, resigned earlier this year.
